"And here comes the early 2000s-wave. Late Guest At the Party, the Brooklyn by way of Italy band is as good a place as any to start. Their new track “Reload”, from the upcoming Repeater, out in July, finds the four piece channeling turn-of-the-millennium dark-wave synth with more than a touch of LCD Soundsystem’s arch dance party delivery. It’s a sound they’ve been honing, mixed in with plenty of Brit-pop, since their single “We Were Young”first brought them wider attention.
If the song sounds like it has hit potential, that may because the group’s frontman Caleb Shreve knows a thing or two about making them; he’s worked as a producer for Phantogram, Carly Rae Jepsen and Tegan and Sara and many others.”
“It’s about an idea that even though in some situations we can’t really win you have to keep trying,” Shreve says. “And that’s a reward in itself.”
